An Educator's Resource for using the Internet

I am a New York State Certified Teacher, K-12.
I caught the technology fever over ten years ago. One day my son's
principal came to me and showed me a room full of Apple IIe computers that were donated to
the school. He had no idea what to do with them or how to get the kids on them. I told him
to leave me in the room for two weeks and I'd figure out how to use them. That was it, I
was hooked. My new job computer teacher!
As a computer teacher you are automatically the token expert within a school. Staff
development was a natural progression, not only did I teach the students, teachers would
come for mini lessons during their prep or they would catch me in the hall with a
"quick question".
My area of concentration in staff development has been in the middle and high school. I have trained teachers on planning and executing teleconferencing, internet, multi-media projects, integration of Office tools, use of science probes, and various software programs that help teachers meet the New York State Standards in technology integration.
